Nude shooting for adult sites. Beginners are offered it as art photography: the pitch mentions “artistic nude”, tidy references are shown, and on the day the conditions turn out to be different.
Why it is not work for a portfolio
Those frames do not go into a modelling book — you cannot show them to an agency or put them in front of a client. They cannot be removed from the internet afterwards, and your name is searched before you are booked — «What Bookers Actually Check: Your Online Footprint».
The adult industry is a separate market with its own rules, and the entry tends to be one-way: commercial clients and agencies close the door after such publications, even when there was only one shoot.
How to spot the substitution
The offer gives itself away by a cluster of signs: a fee well above market on a first job, no named client, no references, everything discussed only in a messenger app, no contract offered. Urgency is usually added — “the slot is going, decide today”.
Genuine nude work in fashion goes through an agency or a direct contract with a publication, with a release and an agreed limit on how far the frame goes. What a normal job in the genre looks like is set out under “Nude art”.
If you have already agreed
You can withdraw before the shoot at any point, and no verbal arrangement changes that. After the shoot, ask for a written restriction on use while the images are unpublished — that is the only moment you hold any leverage.
